Frequently Asked Question

What makes for a good application form?
Last Updated 4 years ago

Standard application forms ask for Name, Email, Phone, etc. But asking a few more questions makes the life of the hiring team much easier.

A good application form will have questions that will help you filter the candidates without having to talk to them or even look at their CV.

Some basic questions are relevant irrespective of the job role. For example:

  • Total work experience
  • Expected pay
  • Notice period

While some questions would be specific to the role. For example, if you are hiring a digital marketing executive, the questions could be:

  • Which marketing automation platform do you have experience working with?
  • Do you have experience working on Google Ads?
  • Please share links to content written by you and published online

A common worry is that candidates may get put off if the application form is too long. But then, on the flip-side, would you really want to hire someone who is too lazy to fill-up an application form? A long application form becomes a filter in itself by removing candidates who are not serious.
